Zn-Mobil is produced from a beneficial autotrophic and acidophilic bacterium Thiobacillus thiooxidans. Zinc (Zn) is one of the essential micronutrients required for optimum plant growth. Substantial quantity of applied inorganic zinc in soil is converted into unavailable form. Zinc solubilizing bacteria are potential alternates for zinc supplement. Zinc deficiency in plants leads to reduced membrane integrity and synthesis of carbohydrates, auxins, nucleotides, cytochromes, and chlorophyll and develops susceptibility to heat stress.

Crops: Vegetables, cereals, millets, flowers, tuber crops, fruit, spices, sugarcane, plantation crops and fibre crops

Mode of Action: The bacterium derives its carbon from atmospheric carbon dioxide. It grows at acidic pH ranging from 4.5 to 1.3. The Zinc available in the soil is oxidized by Thiobacillus thiooxidans. The organic acids produced during this process act on fixed Zinc and mobilize it. Thus the bacterium makes the Zinc available to the crops.

Application:

Seedling treatment: Mix 20 ml of Zn-Mobil in 1 litre of water and dip the seedlings for about 30 minutes prior to plantation. This process would allow the bacterium to adhere the roots.

Soil application: Add 1 litre of Zn-Mobil into 500kg of organic manure and broadcast it.

Application through drip system: One litre of Zn-Mobil per acre can be delivered through drip irrigation system.

Content: Thiobacillus thiooxidans  (1 x 109 cfu / ml)
