Combact – Azospirillum, Azotobacterium, Phosphobacterium, Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas flourescens. A Consortium of Bacterial Bio-Fertilizers and Biocontrol Agents

In general, plant beneficial microbes are producing various enzymes. Of which, enzymes involved in nitrogen fixation, phosphate solubilization, plant growth promotion, disease control agents such as siderophores, antimicrobial peptides (bacteriocins, phenazines), chitinase and other biochemical agents are playing a major role in sustainable agriculture.

However, the beneficial rhizo bacteria may not be able to produce all the above said biochemicals all the time at all environmental conditions. Hence, in order to improve the soil fertility, crop production and yield, we need to apply bio-fertilizers along with bio-control agents. Thus, a combination of beneficial bacteria could help protect the crops from diseases as well as enhance the yield.

Our solution is Combact.....

Combact is very different from other commercially available bio-fertilizers. It is carrying Pseudomonas flourescens, Phosphate solubilizing bacteria, Azospirillum, Azotobacter and Bacillus subtilis. Combact has been developed from beneficial rhizo bacteria isolated from various crops. The bacterial isolates have been proven to be plant growth promoters, induces systemic resistance, protect the crops against diseases and enhance the yield by fixing nitrogen, solubilizing phosphate and rapid uptake of micronutrients. Besides, these bacteria have been checked for their ability to produce several enzymes and hormones necessary for plant growth regulation, disease control and enhanced protein synthesis.

Combact – Importance and Uses:

Improves the fertility of soil and enhance the plant growth.

Fix the nitrogen and interact with blue green algae to form as a mat around the plant

Solubilize the Phosphate as well as enable the crops to uptake micronutrients rapidly

Control the diseases of crops, pests and nematodes

Induce disease resistance in advance and synthesises enzymes against pests and disease factors

Produces bactriocins, siderophores against pathogenic bacteria and induce systemic resistance against viral diseases.

Crops: Banana, Coconut, Turmeric, Sugarcane, Cotton, Paddy, Potato, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Cashew, Beetroot, Carrot, Tea, Coffee, Groundnut, Brinjal, Tomato, Bhendi, Citrus, Onion, Oil seed plants, Flowers, Fruiting plants and trees, Blackgram, Greengram, Redgram, Grains etc.

Method of Application:

Seed Treatment: Mix 10 ml combact with 1 kg of seeds and moisturize with cooled rice gruel or water and leave it for 30 minutes. Then sow the seeds within 24 hours to prevent the damping off disease.  In case of paddy, 10 ml / kg of seeds should be mixed with Combact and soak the seeds in water for overnight. Decant the water and allow the seed to sprout for 24 hours and sow the sprouted seeds.

Seedling Root dipping: The seedlings can be treated with 1% Combact solution (10 ml / litre of water). The root of seedlings should be placed in 1 % Combact solution for at least 10 minutes before plantation. Prolonged dipping or soaking is acceptable and it will enhance the efficiency.

Soil application: 500 ml or 1kg of Combact is recommended per acre. Mix the desired volume with 50 – 100 kg of farmyard manure or sand and broadcast in the field. For efficiency, mix the Combact with farmyard manure and leave it for few days and broadcast it in the field before sowing or transplantation. The Combact can also be applied through drip irrigation.

Spray:  Spray the Combact at 1 % concentration (10ml / litre of water) at regular interval of 1 month after transplantation.

Content: Pseudomonas fluorescens, Phosphate solubilizing bacteria, Azospirillum, Azotobacter and Bacillus subtilis (20% each carrying 1 x 109 cfu / ml) and stabilizers.

Dosage: 1000 ml / acre

Caution: Do not mix with chemical fungicides or fertilizers.

Expiry: One year from the date of manufacturing

Pack size: 1000ml and 500ml
