Myco-Meta (Bio-insecticide): Metarhizium anisopliae

Myco-Meta is produced by using Metarhizium anisopliae, which is an entomopathogenic fungus that can control many insect pests.

Mode of Action: Upon application of Myco-Meta in the soil, the spores get the favourable condition to germinate and thereby the mycelium develops. When the insects come in to contact with the fungus, it becomes infected by the mycelia and the fungal mycelia starts deriving nutrients from the body fluid of the insect which eventually perishes the insect.

Benefits: Myco-Meta controls borers, root grubs, leaf hoppers, cutworms, termites, palm weevils, cockchafers, spittlebugs, grubs, beetles; root weevils, flies, gnats and thrips.

Crops: Vegetables, Fruit crops, Cereals, Pulses, Fibre crops, Cole crops, nurseries, lawns and landscape, Orchards, Cut flowers and Ornamentals in greenhouses.

Method of Application:

Seed Treatment: Mix 20ml of Myco-Meta with 1 kg of seeds and sow the treated seeds after 30 minutes.  

Root Dipping: Mix 20 ml of Myco-Meta with 1 litre of water and dip the roots of seedlings for about 20 minutes before planting.

Field application: For an acre, 1000ml of Myco-Meta can be mixed with sufficient quantity of water and this solution is sprinkled over 50 – 100 kg of farmyard manure and broadcast it in the field. Suspend 1000ml of Myco-Meta in required volume of water and irrigate through drip system.

Content: Metarhizium anisopliae (2 x 109 cfu / ml)

Caution: Do not mix with chemical fungicides or fertilizers.
